A simple, contemporary building located close to one of the key gateways to the 2012 Olympic Park. The unique contextual challenge entirely influences the character of this building.
On one side the noise and activity of Stratford High Street, a major urban highway, demands a bold, formal urban response, translated through a repeating gridded brick façade across a series of stepping blocks.
On the other, the architecture of the canal towpath is calmer and more relaxed, overlooking new public realm revitalised as part of British Waterways long term aspirations for the quality of the canalside.
